Rare mid-century translucent deep red Bakelite bangle bracelet. This exquisite piece features a beautifully executed reverse-carved "aquarium" scene on the interior wall, showcasing detailed swimming fish and delicate aquatic botanical fronds.
When viewed from the outside, the massive 8.4mm high-dome wall creates a powerful magnifying lens effect. This gives the inner hand-painted scene an incredible, lifelike three-dimensional depth (often referred to by collectors as the "fishbowl" effect).
